Default Sonova B**** Wont stay running.

So tonight I'm at work, the truck wont restart after being off for less than a few minutes. It starts rumbles a little at 500-600rpm then dies. the dipstick was dry so we added 5 Qts of oil, have plenty of spark, plently of fuel pressure, still wont run. WTF. You guys on here have helped me out so many times in the past I figured I'd ask. figured it could be something to do with the computer so I've disconnected the battery for the night. Will do a full tune up tomorrow (needs one anyway). No CEL either.

Five Qts of oil!!!! that means .5 of a Qt in the motor I would be checking some things out first before you spend any money on it. Odds are a spun bearing.

Pretty sure it was almost 5 qt. Wouldnt a spun bearing make noise? Couldnt hear anything out of the ordinary, except a misfire right before it died.

How fast does the motor turn over when trying to start it, any slower than normal? any faster? Does it run if you keep your foot on the gas?

No, no, and no. Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary other than the EXREMELY low oil, and dying. I'm actually delivering pizza's in the thing, and turning a profit (go figure). I've had it for over 5 years and havent had to do much, just regular maintenance and the rear main seal (a few months after i bought it).

No but luckily, the people's house I broke down at had thier mechanic friend over, who gave me his number for use of tool etc. But I may use this as excuse to buy one as the one I had was stolen (motorcycle mechanic).

Yep no time like now to get one. If I catch anybody near my tool box they are in big sh*t, I have had more tools go missing when I worked at a shop it drove me nuts. Good luck I hope its a small thing for you.
