Default Advancing and retarding timing question

I know it's been talked about and I've re read it a couple times but I just wanna ask it flat out to be on the safe side for me. From what I've read advancing the timing gear (+4) will give the low end power. Can I do that with stock heads and rollers? I want to get upgraded heads and rockers later on but would it hurt my motor I'm about to drop in my truck if while I put the new double roller timing set in if I go ahead and advance it or do I need to wait and go back later and redo it all once I upgrade?

Yeah that's the one I read last night. But he said something about upgraded heads and rockers. I wanna know if I can do it with stock heads and rockers.

You can advance the stock cam +4 with all stock components.
