Installing a 2001 5.9l in a 1994 Ram 4x4
This is being way overcomplicated.
The swap will work just fine. Basically, you will want to use the 2001 5.9 as a long block assembly ONLY. This means use the intake, exhaust manifolds, sensors, and accessories from your 5.2. Use the flex plate as well as the balancer from the 5.9. You may need a 2001 torque converter as I believe the 94 has one hole asymmetrical from the others.
The 5.2 PCM will run it just fine, OBD I is a lot more forgiving than the OBD II systems are and you won't notice any detrimental effects.
