Yeah, not sure why dodge put the vent there..... seen anything on plugging that one, and re-drilling it elsewhere??

Ive had mine burried in water to right below the door handles and never had an issue.. something is going on to get water in there. Drain the fluid and hope its not to late.

The vent is on the pump plate, behind TC. Technically, it could be plugged and a hole drilled inthe case above it, but that would be exposed to greater risk of water intrusion, unless you came up with some snorkle thinggy (technical term). But I suspect it doubles in the event of overfill.

If you overfill and it runs out that hole, there will be a large amount of smoke following you (don't ask how I know....)

On the chevy transmissions..... the vent was right on the top of the trans body, with a small tube that ran to the side.... (bout 2 inches long) With those, it was a simple matter to put a rubber hose on it (vacuum line) and run it up someplace higher than what you expect water to get to. (along with the t-case, and diff vents as well.)

If that pic is as deep as the water got, there is some other place where it got in....

It was deeper in the front, 33" tires were completely under and almost to headlights. What do ya mean?

Did you stop?

That may be deep enough to submerge the front of the trans enough to get water in there... if nothing else, it's deep enough to get the torque converter wet, and it can toss water around pretty good.....

Yea, I stopped... felt it dippin down deeper and then i backed out. but i guess the water that seeped in may have put added pressure and bursted the seal all the way?

Probably got in thru the vent, and water really doesn't lubricate seals well.....
