Default Front tranny seal leak!

Hey there well I've noticed Recently on my 97 2wd that the front tranny seal was a little wet... Well long story short, hit some watery mud holes/rough trails the other day , and now she's pissing fluid out of the front and it was milky when I checked the dipstick... What to do, and how much y'all?

Water contaminated fluid. Don't drive it like that, you will smoke your trans. (and it may already be too late.)

Gonna have to drop the trans to change that front seal. While it's out, make sure that is the only problem you have. (not something like the pump giving up the ghost....)

Which dipstick was milky? Trans? May be time for a rebuild. Engine? Change the oil. NOW. DO NOT drive it.

Wow. Never heard of one of these leaking from the seal without some other failure.

Are you sure you did not overfill the fluid (and it will leak out of a vent hole abover the pump in the tranny)?

Is is milky like water in it or is it faomy like too much fluid in it? Even this can cause slipping.

How dod you check the fluid level, and just how much water did you drive through?

It was watery milky and I haven't added fluid for about 6 months since I dropped the pan. And no I didn't over fill it. Just checked I when it started slipping down the road cuz I didn't know it was leaking before that :/ I got a pic but dunno how to put it up

Best way to upload pictures is through photobucket or something of that nature. Then you just copy and paste the link to the picture in the thread.

+1.......Even a small amount of water in the tranny is abd news.

And although I have been in and around these transmissions, and I can only see the front seal with tranny dropped and TC removed.....and deep enough water could get into the vent hole and get into tranny.
