Default Truck is acting weird

The last couple weeks my truck has been acting weird on occasion. Today I was hauling firewood and going through a little ditch I put it in 4 lo because my clutch is going out and it would have been less feathering/ stress on it. Well when I went to go up the side of the ditch I gave it gas and it would t rev higher than 1200 rpm in 1st gear low side. So I just let it idle up it and when I got to the top I pushed the clutch in and it idled fine so I revved it up a bit and took off again in 1st gear. I gave it a little gas going up the hill and it just revved to like 3500 (don't think this was clutch because it did it for a couple seconds before I realized I wasn't really going anywhere and I couldn't smell the clutch burning) so I pushed clutch back in and put it in 2 wheel drive and took off. It went fine for a minute then it wouldn't rev past 1100 or so, started poppin and surging so I pushed the clutch back in. It idled fine so I revved it up again and all was fine from there on.

For the last couple weeks when I would first pull out of the driveway it would do the surging/cutting out thing like it was an O2 sensor because I put one of those in a while back but it never popped/backfire/missed like that.

I checked my plugs and wires and the coating on the wire to cylinder 3 is melted but not to the wire itself yet.

Do you think that wire is my problem? I never got a CEL or anything

Hows your cat? Sounds like it is clogging up.

I have no idea, it's stock, haven't fixed the plenum yet so that's a good possibility

Keep waiting to fix the plenum and replace cat and o2's, and you will get cracked heads too if they are not already.
