Default ABS always engage

99 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie w/ 4 wheel ABS.

My ABS and brake light has been on. I replaced the rear sensor on the differential, both wheel bearings and ABS sensors. When running the driver's side ABS sensor, I noticed that the old one was unplugged. My initial thought was "what idiot would unplug this?"

I plugged in the new sensor and the ABS and brake light went off. However, immediately after taking it out for a drive I realized why it was unplugged.

Anytime I brake, the ABS engages. I am driving at a slow speed on dry, smooth pavement and there should be no reason for them coming on. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance...

Check and see if dodge doesn't have some updated software for the ABS system. Could be one of your sensors isn't telling the module the truth too.... would need a scanner that would show sensor data to determine that, and which one though.

You're probably right about the data from the scanner, but I have a hard time thinking that updated software might solve this.

Does anyone know if this could be a bad module?
