Default 96 1500 Cruise Control not working...Can't find in FSM

I have downloaded the 96 FSM but I cannot find anything in there that outlines the cruise control system. The CC switches on the steering wheel were very sticky when I bought the truck so I took it off and cleaned but all the connections seemed good. The green light used to come on with some persistent tapping of the switch but the system never engaged when using the set button.

I have heard that the wire harness at the firewall comes loose sometimes, but I do not know where to look for that. Any technical assistance would be helpful.

Is this the correct location for this vacuum hose junction???

I was doing an inspection under the hood and noticed it was just dangling there and not connected to anything. I noticed a plug on a vacuum port on the plenum and it seemed like it was the correct place.

If that isn't the correct place for that then please let me know where it should go.

The vac line right above the red arrow in your pic goes to the CC servo, under the battery tray, trace it and and check that line. And read this thread, https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ild-vents.html

Okay I took another picture of the passenger side valve cover so show what is going on...

The top larger hose goes to the PCV valve, and the lower hose (was just dangling before i took the picture) is connected to the plenum nipple (which had a plug on it before I attached the lower hose)

I am just trying to make sure I hooked up the smaller vacuum hose/tree into the correct vacuum port on the plenum!

Also a vacuum leak wouldn't cause the green light not to operate would it? The green light on the CC switch is no longer illuminating.

Wiring diagrams are in 8W-33

If the light isn't coming on, then either the switch is bad, the brake switch is bad/out of adjustment, or, you have a bad wire coming from/going to the PCM.
