cummins maybe a possible swap
I have been thinking about it for a while instead of building the turbo motor just doing a cummins swap. Good power tons of torque and well better gas mileage. (so Ive heard)
Im not sure which one to go with so I do believe I would like to go with the easier one to swap in seeing as I will try to do it all myself and Im no mechanic, but will have one close.
The main reason is there is a issue with my motor and its in a bad spot right now and my rebuild will be high so that s why the swap came up what do yall think?
Rebuild a 318 or cummins swap? And which one?

It is cheaper and easier to just sell your truck, and buy one with a cummins already in it... Not a trivial undertaking. Not to mention that the diesel weighs quite a bit more, and that will take a toll on the front end... it really isn't designed to deal with that much weight.
If you want to do the swap anyway..... getting a wrecked truck with the engine you want, that is the same OBD version that you have would make it easiest. Finding one is the fun part...
