Default 2000 Ram 5.9 stalled, wont restart

Hi all, I'm new to this Forum, I'm hoping to maybe get a little help.. I have a 2000 Ram, 5.9 v8 magnum 1500. Last night it stalled out, no warning (it was raining at time) It will not restart, it trys but seems like its grasping for life and shakes a alittle and stops doing anything.. I'm not sure if its the fuel pump because I have had no problem with anything since I bought it back in Jan, and of course I just filled tank yesterday morning, go figure.. If anyone has had this problem of could possibly give me any insite, I'd really appreciate it..Thank You

welcome toDF, have you had a look at the coil? if it has a crack in it and then gets wet , that problem will occur. The rain is most likely the culprit. check for wet wires that could be grounding.

when I tried to start to start this morning, it only cranked, wasnt trying to turn over at all, i knocked on fuel tank a dozen times with hammer, it turned over for a sec and then stopped, its only cranking now again, not turning over at all.. Knocking on tank does nothing anymore..When i pull any of the wires of the plugs and have someone turn the key, there is no spark, or not one that i can see

Just filled the tank? Probably fuel pump then.... they always wait until right after a fill up to go belly up.

Check fuel pressure. See what you are getting.

He stats that he has no spark. Im willing to bet your hood seal is gone or loose. It is a seal that should be on the front edge of thw wiper cowel. If it is loose in the middle it will dunnel all water down onto your distributor. Pull the diZzy cap off and check it. This happened ro mine twice, rusted the cap out. If this is indeed the problem then clean the edge of wiper cowl and seal and reattach using a bead of silicone.
