Default skyjacker lift price

Hey what's happenin guys/gals? Just picked up a 2001 extra cab sport 4x4. Looking to lift it a bit....2-3". Stopped at a local aftermarket performance shop and guy told me Skyjacker 3" lift with shocks for 5 something and 450 for install....so approx $1100ish total....comes with new control arms and aal. I would do myself but just don't have the time anymore. What do you think of that price? Also, are the skyjacker shocks good or should I go with bilstiens instead? Thanks.

Get the Bilstiens over the Skyjacker shocks. The prices are in par I think, nice to see you are looking at a complete kit. About 4hrs work to install that kit. Couple of things I would add are a drop pitman arm and a adjustable track bar.

I figured it would cost somewhere around $100/hr labor so the 4 hrs sounds right. I will ask about the drop pitman arm and adjustable track bar. I guess I need the silver bilsteins made for lift vs. the yellow and blue ones. I will ask him about that too. I thought about just doing the spacer in front to level the truck but then I would prob wish I went with new lift springs. I would love to tackle this project myself but if I can drop the truck off one day and pick it up the next, that helps me out a lot. And thanks guys for the quick replies.

Lifting a truck in your own garage/driveway is too much fun to pay someone else to do it!

Why have someone else do it? It ain't hard, plus its a good learning experience.

After putting more thought into this I was going to forget about this 3" lift done at the shop and do the rear block and front spacer lift with new shocks myself....cheap and easy right? But then I started looking into replacement leaf springs and came across the skyjacker 2" lift springs....part #S97DR56S. Just need new u-bolts and prob new shackles too since mine are pretty rusted. Also looking at the skyjacker 2" lift coil springs....part # S97D20. Will be putting bilstein 5100's front and rear. I will be doing this myself. Looking at a lot of the trucks on here it seems to be OK with 2" of lift without getting new control arms, pitman arm, track bar. Am I right?

Yep, moves the axle slightly to the drivers side of the truck, but, not very much....

I have a frieand that just removed his lift from his truck, but it's 4 or 5 inches. The shocks are no good, but the rest was in nice shape.
