Click on UserCP link at the top of the forums, (right below where it shows what forum you are currently looking at) down the left side, will be links for edit sig, and edit profile. Add your trucks information to both.

If you are posting from a phone, you may not have access to those.

I'm thinking this is purely coincidence, and you need to change out your Gov. solenoid with one of these. http://www.doghousediesel.com/catalog/i307.html

does this soliniod require removal and or dissassembly of the trans? i would tend ta agree about be coensedental except i can repeat the condition when i get too low on gas. for now i am thinking just keep the fuel level above the E mark. its worked so far. i just thought i would throw a strange problem at you guys as i cannot think how these are even related.

Don't have to drop the trans for the job.

I would be REAL curious what the problem here is.......

The only way the two occurrences could affect the other is if there is a short between the low fuel warning light wire and the electric shift controller wire(not sure of the actual name-never been a tranny guy). When the tank gets low and it energizes the wire to illuminate the low fuel light on the dash, it could cause a disruption in the signal to the tranny shifter module(again, I am unsure of the actual part name). This would mean either along the frame rail, up the firewall or in the dash both those wires have a hole in the insulation and the bare wires are touching. Although, I suppose if the connectors for the "O/D OFF" and "Low Fuel" warning light behind the gauge pod are damaged, and close enough, the short could be there, also. But the point remains, the only way the two can be connected is a direct short circuit between those two wires.
