Default 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 2wd lift questions

Hey just bought my first truck from my grandfather 177,000 miles on this 5.9 L Magnum n she's still running strong, well I want to lift it and put some decent tires on it for woormds, mud, dirt, silver lake its not 4x4 so im not expecting too much out of this 2wd pickup, but I wanted to do a 3-4" rear block kit in rear n coil spacer in front 2.5-3"? Just to give it a nice stance and hopefully fit some beefy 33s or 35s under it on stock rims looks clean I'm not into the 3" body lift so is like to stay away from it but its a possiblity if I can't do it with blocks n spacers, so let me know what would be best and in addition to each side what I would have to modify/buy/build for each option lift blocks n spacers or body lift? Which is better/easier? Let me know experience wise n others personal opinion

I have a 97 and I did 2" blocks in the back with new shocks from rough country. Then the front I did 3" spacers from eBay for like 50 bucks. Then new shocks from skyjacker. Only major mod you'll have to do is cut out that bump stop bracket. And you'll be in the clear for 33" tires. I did the additional 3" body lift and I clear 35"s. this is really the only bang for your buck lift. Unless you do a 1500 dollar lift from fab tech... :/ good luck man!

You can probably clear 33s with 1.5" lift like I did. I have 3" front spacer lift, and 2.5" or so rear lift with AAL and shackle flip. You can do a decent lift with spacers, AALs and new shocks. You will have to cut the bumpstops like mentioned, and might have to elongate the alignment holes on upper control arm to get the correct alignment. They say the ball joints are terribly out of whack, but from what i can tell, they aren't that bad. Have fun

If you come across anything that relates to suspension labeled "universal," you should leave it on the shelf you found it on.

Also, never stack blocks.

Well I planned on making my own shackles out of some nice heavier duty steel, and some blocks and possibly body lift? Front coil spacers, and whatelse can i do to lift the front end? Whats AAL mean? Saw it mentioned above? I def. Want the front spacers 2.5-3", and either build my own shackles or blocks? Any have experience with either or trust either or better? Prolly end up getting 2-3" body lift

Add a leaf nice, should have figured that, but don't the 2500s already have a couple extra or atleast one extra leaf? 4x4 vs. 2wd stock height is considerable difference no? If i decide to make my own little shackle lift brackets, would I have to change aything with driveshaft / rearend angle? Would make it adjustable heights and max would be 3" prolly go with 2-2 1/2" though? Should be fine?

Be warned, with a 2" spacer on the front of my 2wd 2500 i lost about 20% turning radius. My spindle now contacts my lower control arm.
