RE: PLEASE HELP ME IM DUMB!!!!
Is it a 4x4 or a 2WD? (edit: I'm dumb too, because I didn't notice you mention it was a 4x4)
If you have the 1500 (1/2 ton), you have the 9 1/4 rear and the Dana 44 front. The 2500's came with the Dana 60's and the Dana 44HD front, and the 3500's came with either the Dana 60 (single rear wheel) or the Dana 70 (dual rear wheel) and the Dana 60 front. As for the spline, I'm not sure, but any reputable shop should know the spline count based on year and axle (I think all 9 1/4 rear had the same spline, but I don't know for sure).
If I'm wrong on the 2500's and the 3500's, someone let me know, but that's what pops in my head (I'm more used to the first gen 3/4 and 1 ton trucks than the second gen rigs).

No problem. I always love to help if I can, because I need some help from time to time.
If you're going to re-gear the rear, then you need to re-gear the front too, other wise you'll get a driveline bind and start breaking things when you put it into 4WD. The best place I've heard of to get gears from is Randy's Ring and Pinion. From what I've heard, they have great prices, great knowledge, and even better tech. support. I'm sure a few others will post their favorite suppliers too.
