Default Dual exhaust help/opinions

Tomorrow I am putting dual exhaust on my truck, the cat was toast and since we dont have to pass emissions in my state I'm just leaving the cat off and running duals.

My question is what size tubing should I use? the size of the pipe coming off the collectors or what went into the cat is 2" but everything after the cat was 2 1/2". I'm debating between using 2 1/4 or 2 1/2, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or experience with one being better than the other for these engines?

I have heard that if you are going duals you should go 2.5 and 3 for a single exhaust.
Are you puttin a muffler on or going with straights?

2 1/4 pipe is plenty for duals. You can go with 2 1/2 if you want.

How are you going to use the O2 sensors if you are going duel exhaust and eliminating the Cat?

The pre cat o2 would go in the X or H pipe if hes doing that. If he is not running an X or H , the o2 will be fine in either pipe, as these are not race engines, and the PCM will still get a descent reading from one bank. As far as the post cat o2 goes, some will get a CEL and some won't(without a cat). For the ones that do, this can be done. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...converter.html

Thanks for the info, I ended up going with 2 1/2 , it sounds pretty decent, got it all clamped up and today bringing it to my dads to weld it up. I was debating on adding the H pipe depending on if it looks like it will fit well enough the way I did it. Hopefully have some pics up of it soon
