Nope, just cleans out carbon.
It can help compression by getting rid of carbon. lol

if anything, Seafoam will DECREASE compression by eliminating build up.. by increasing displacement with the space that build up was occupying..

I dont have answer to the OP question but I will say Sea Foam works wonders on cleaning the inside of your engine.

I have used it on a lot of vehicles and it has made a difference when used properly, just make sure you are in a very open area when you do it, as it will put out a lot of smoke.

You can go on you-tube and look up videos on how to do it correctly.

Likewise. Big Seafoam fan here. I use it all three ways. Air, fuel, and oil.

My truck always feels snappier after 1 or 2 seafoam treatments through the brake booster hose. Have friend hold rpm's around 1500 let 1/3 to 1/2 can suck in hose. Let of pedal and shut off ignition. She might do a little run on. wait awhile then go drive her aggressively. I gained 10 more lbs of compression on #8 cylinder after sea foam.

I've always been a bit leary of these type of products.
May have to give it a try.

Seafoam is a great product used every way. A great product i have had good experiences with is engine restore. Does a pretty good job of restoring compression.

It may help with compression if the carbon is built up on the valves and not fully seating. Anytime an engine starts to have any problem I run seafoam and/or Lucas injector cleaner through a few tanks. I normally will run one through a tank and then the other. I understand they don't work the same but do the same thing. I also add the Lucas oil treatment to the oil with every oil change.

The bottom line is that it will only clean things. Sometimes that is not good. But for the most part it does not hurt. You should run something through a couple times a year so there is no build up. If things get built up too bad and then you use it it can clog injectors. But pull them out and out them in an ultra sonic cleaner and life is good again.
