440 in 99 ram
anyone ever put a 440 in a 2nd gen ram?well I got one with matching 727 tranny for 100.00.needs to be rebuilt.just wonderng if the stock motor mount plates on the 440 will work onthe stock frame mounts n the ram?also will th 440 power steering pump work with the stock ram steering and lines?and the 440 ac conpressor be adapted to the sock as system?

Mounts will be different. Pump may or may not work..... same for the a/c compressor....
It's gonna be an exercise, and a fair bit of fab work will be required..... Also, all the cluster gauges are driven by the PCM...... You will have to figure out something for that as well. Not to mention that the stock trans is electronically controlled, where the 727 is not.... that will annoy the PCM.

If you plan this, you'll have to go to a carb or a standalone with a custom EFI manifold to fit the 440 block
Custom engine tranny & mounts, drive shaft, front suspension, steering, after market gauges, fuel system....etc etc.
Other than that, piece of cake, take pics!

it really isnt that hard to put a 440 into a 2wd...basicly leave the carb on there and away you go...its a project you could have running in a weekend.. i helped a buddy drop a 440 out of a 2wd 70's ram charger into a efi 2wd 90's ramcharger and it took a long weekend to have it up and running even with the majority of the gauges working if you have any questions just ask

now i think if he could find gauges out of a 94-96 dodge ram he could probably get all the gauges to work without a computer

The conversion parts for trucks are out there, and make it easy, yes, but they are not the same mounts...

I think I might have gotten that link from you actually... That's for a 1st gen obviously, but cutting and welding in new custom mounts would be a piece of cake.
