I must not have seen the latest and greatest on project rust bucket, but there still isn't any chance of even pulling 20 mpg on Prince of Darkness injectors and big laggy chargers that made the final whp...

Ah. I see you are still douching out over the VE 6bt. Fact of the matter is, the 4bt is nearly identical to the 5.9, minus the two rear cylinders. With same modifications and tuning it will produce 66% of the hp/tq.

I still don't understand why some people don't understand the difference between real world mileage, and mileage figured on a trip to "figure mileage". And the scheids injectors they used from your link are still wildly larger than PODs, which I don't see producing nearly the same efficiency even with a better pray pattern.

Have a good week.

Okay, I finally got a decent highway trip on the truck since the swap. Trip was mostly 70mph on the interstate with some traffic in Minneapolis. Not completely done tweaking the pump, but pretty happy with it as is

234.4 miles and topped off with 10.03 gallons= 23.37mpg

Hmm. That's pretty disappointing. I get 18-19 with mixed city/freeway driving in my 7000lb lifted truck on 35's, twin turbo's, and lots of fuel on tap.

Am I the one off here? I am closing in on 24mpg at 70mph in a 6,000lb leveled truck.

Which is still 5mpg better than your truck? and 10mpg better than my previous 360?

I was just saying I would expect better from less motor, less weight, and less aerodynamic drag. Guys get 25+ out of the 2wd 1st gens and close to 25 with 3rd gens, so I bet with tuning you will be able to get a lot more out of it.

Heck, I think that is pretty good mileage myself. Better than the 10mpg I get in my ram!

I'd be pretty happy with that kind of mileage too.

Well I'm 4x4, not done tuning, and don't have the intercooler on yet so I am still happy with my numbers thus far...

With any luck I might be able to make some progress with my air upgrades by next week
