tach is usually determined by alternator noise on an engine without a crank position sensor. thats how the emissions people do it...they plug an adapter into your cigarette lighter to read the RPM's on the diesels.

I've browsed through 4btswaps on a few occasions. I specifically liked 'sir hannick's' dodge ram.

So my thinking is it would be more difficult to do this swap to my 2000 because its newer and has all the sensors and OBDII?

Pulled my driveshafts and the splines matched right up!
Big relief there. Now I'll just have to alter the shafts instead of mating them to the diesel shafts. Saved some $$. Tomorrow I'll see how the 47rh likes the cross member from the 46re

4bt and the 47rh are about as mechanical as it gets. My check engine light will need some paint/tape over it. Shouldn't be any different than mine. If anything your splices would be slightly different but I think they would be identical

Depends on your state... Iowa and MN are no problem seeing how we dont have any sort of inspections and registration will be a breeze

Small update, didnt get much done tonight due to other things going on...
I pulled the trans crossmember the rest of the way out and set it under the 47 to make sure it would work. I also finished painting her...

I also got 3/8" fuel lines ordered up and bought myself another haynes manual.
Some more pics for the heck of it.

and the crossmember has slotted holes for the mounting bolts which will be nice for positioning the 47 to work with the 4bt and custom driveshafts
