What do you mean with the custom driveshafts? Completely new replacements or retube old with beefier joints?
Oh and further kudos on bar downtime to get re-energized for the work on this!!

Small update, didnt get much done tonight due to other things going on...
I pulled the trans crossmember the rest of the way out and set it under the 47 to make sure it would work. I also finished painting her...
I also got 3/8" fuel lines ordered up and bought myself another haynes manual.
Some more pics for the heck of it.
and the crossmember has slotted holes for the mounting bolts which will be nice for positioning the 47 to work with the 4bt and custom driveshafts

Good question! it will be here this week. Im getting eveything ready for it
I had 2 options with the shafts. I could shorten the rear and lengthen the front OR get full measurements and go aluminum...
I decided to just alter my current ones to save some coin, especially since my u joints and slip yoke ended up being perfect for my current shaft ends/47rh.
I pretty much dropped all the needle bearings out of my u joints when I was rolling them around so ill have to get new joints with my shafts. which probably wouldnt have been a bad idea anyhow w/ 167k on the chassis
Had to lift the truck up to slide the tranny in on the motorcycle lift
Getting that crossmember back up in the frame was a COMPLETE PITA!!
I mocked up the 47rh to where my best guess on the placement with the motor will sit. I measured my shafts.
Im afraid if I get these cut and I have to move the drivetrain later because of mounting issues, my measurements will be screwed and I will have wasted $$
Front shaft needs lengthened 5.25 inches (as of now)
Rear shaft needs shortened 4.25". Hopefully I will have a little more room for error here because of how long the spline is on the tcase.(picture is looking down on the axle since my bed is still off)

So it's been a few days and I've been patiently waiting for my 4bt to ship. In the mean time, I torched off the 360 mounts and grinded down the burs on the frame. I have also been waiting on my driveshafts getting cut just so I can make sure my motor is going to sit where I think it will. Finally got it in and I just had time to power wash and clean it up a little
A few things I'm looking into...
-flipping the 4bt exhaust manifold or buy a 6bt and cut it to clear the firewall
-I got the original motor mounts but they are tiny and only like 1/2" thick, nothing like the ones I've seen on 4bt swaps. Looking into using them but we'll see I guess.
-using regulator to run the alternator

The bell housing is also bigger and easily adapted to the cummins bolt pattern.
Internals are also much stronger, not to mention hydraulic so easier to control with the swap
