Default plenum ordered!!

ok with that being said, what else should i do thats cheap? i know i should do plugs wires etc.. but i dont have the money for that and the plenum lol. and how hard is this plenum going to be?

Do the timing chain. No ifs ands or buts. Just do it, whether you can afford it or not. Double roller please, bout $50.

No real tricks, need either a steering wheel puller or a 3 jaw puller to get the harmonic balancer off, depends on the year of your truck.

Water pumps are cheap, like $30, no time like the present to replace that....

Bypass hose and thermostat if it's old.

the kit i just ordered has the bypass hose and thermostat from hughes. and i have a 96 2500 5.9l gasser

also the water pump looke fairly new. no rust on the outside yet like a normal one would have after time..

Cheap? Really? If you would have researched here first, you would have saved enough on the plenum plate to pay for the double roller timing set!

Download the service manual in the FAQ/DIY section. It is cheap (free) and has all the "tricks" listed.

i just thought it was one of those things where you "replace it if you can but if not it'll be ok"...

Should you replace the gears when you replace the timing chain or just the chain? How hard is it to get back in time?
