Default Dodge Ram SST question

I found a wrecked SST on Craigslist. I was wondering if anyone knew what the gear ratio was on those? If they are the 3.92's, I'm gonna see if I can go get them today. Thanks in advance

3.55 were standard with 3.92 as an option, If I recall correctly they all had limited slip.
If you can, can you get the vin off of it and the location? I know a guy that started an SS/T registry, he would be most appreciative.

I got the VIN and requested a build sheet for it from Dodge... Well I got the email today and guess what... It has 3.92's!!

Now my only question is, it got hit from the side pretty hard from what I can tell in the pictures. It looks like it hit the back of the truck to, but the axle still looks to be in line. If it did get shoved over though, would that have screwed the gears up? What is a good way to check that they're still alright? I know the test where you lift the wheel off the ground and spin it, would that tell if they're alright if it still spins freely?

Also the build sheet says it has an "Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle." Is that pretty close to the same as a LSD or Posi-trac?

And I'll send you a PM itate

I would worry about the frame, not the gears.

Well I'm not buying the truck, just taking the gears off of it since the guy is parting it out.

Pull the cover, and inspect. If anything looks dodgy, pass on it.

Have a close look at the LSD unit as well..... If an axle got stuffed in there hard enough, it WILL break things.

What will damaged gears usually look like? I'm guessing stripped right?

If they are damaged, it will be obvious. Bring along a can of brake cleaner so you can get the gear lube off of them, and get a good look. Missing teeth, bad wear patterns, galling, etc...
