99 Ram ext cab 4x4 with 40 mpg?!?!?!

i think a 4bt would get more than 25mpg in a full size truck. a first gen brick with a 12valve cummins and a 3 speed can get 27mpg on the highway. now imagine what gas mileage that 12valve in a first gen could get if it had a 4 or 5 speed transmission.

MPG, as in meters per gallon? That sounds right.
If you're talking miles per gallon, the motor he had was not v8 magnum, that's for sure.
Swap in a 4bt cummins and you might get around 25mpg highway.
There's not much to increasing mpg, just fix anything that's wrong with it (blown plenum, cat, o2's, etc.) and take it easy on the gas pedal, and you'll get the most mpg you can; 13 city, 16 highway at the most?
There's things you can get that potentially give you another mpg or two, like a tuner, but it'll also give you more power and make you wanna 'go fast' which leads to worse mpg...
