Exactly. I should also add.....The tach needle does go to zero when the truck is running, the light works and dims when I dim the instrument panel lights.

I know this wont help now but im going to wire it to my truck tomorrow and see if it works...my truck does have factory tach though...dont know if that makes a difference....but i figure ill try it since i had it on my nissan and it worked and my nissan DID have a distributor...so i will let u know tomorrow on that...sorry i can be much more help than that right now

Tach signal wire should go to the black wire with green trace from the coil connector. That's the wire the PCM uses to control the ground, which actually fires the coil.

Thank you 95RAM360 and HeyYou. Got it working. Just didn't have the splice to the black/green wire connected properly. Tach now works great.
