No first or overdrive

Default No first or overdrive

i have replaced the overdrive solinoid and the shift pack i belive its called. i do not have 1st gear and it will not lock up into overdrive. only one code present..P0748 shift solinoid a electrical.. from what ive been told this code should not come up because a 98 ram with 46re does not have shift solinoids..? i cleared the codes and as soon as i started the truck it was back? has anyone had this problem?

You are in limp mode. Lets look at it form the beginning. When you refilled trans, did you check it in park or neutral?

There are solenoids. They look like this:

The Gov pressure sensor and gov solenoid are in the foreground, the OD and TCC solenoids are at the back with the wiring.

P0748 Governor Press Sol Ctrl/Trans Relay Circs

Check the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of the trans.... toward the back.

Which is also the top connector in gdstock's picture.... I know that thing all too well...
