Just got back from a test drive. Super silky when the power is there. I think I may still have some air in the system. Called up AGR and they gave me a few things to check and do in the morning. Keeping fingers crossed that it's only a little air.

With it running, turn the steering wheel lock to lock several times. That should purge the air out.

I don't think there's air in it now. Cold this morning it was 63, idle for 10 min and jumped to 102, 5 min on ground back and forth at 1250 RPM and jumped to 200. It seems to like 1000 - 1250 RPM to kick in. I'll talk to AGR here in a few to see what they have to say.

I usually jack up the front end to purge the air out of power steering...... No stress on the system that way. (whips less air into the fluid...)

Jack it up, make sure fluid is full, start engine, crank steering lock to lock a couple times. Recheck fluid.... lather, rinse, repeat. If the fluid looks foamy, leave it alone for a while for the air to work its way out of the fluid before doing it again. (leave engine off for that.)

Yeah, I've gone through that a number of times now. They said I could be sucking air in or the pressure valve is sticking. Smeared grease around the connections, cycled some more, never saw any air pockets in the grease so just tightened all the fittings again. Cycled some more, checked temps and seemed ok. Test drive and occasionally, much less frequently and very randomly, there would be no power coming into a turn or to a stop. I hope it's just a little bit of air and not the valve. I put Royal Purple in and that stuff is expensive to be draining off.

With power though it feels pretty nice around the block a few times.

ps-during this process I found that I have a driver hub bearing going out too. yay

I've always read that you dont hit the lock when bleeding the system...

I certainly don't hold it there.... just kinda bounce off it and head back the other way.
