There are a number of gas mileage threads.... standard seems to be right around 12 in town...... Is your plenum fixed?

My 5.9 is in tip top shape(more or less) and I get around 10ish in town. I do have somewhat of a heavy foot and that plays a big role. If you mash a 5.9 you won't get out of the single digits.

In my experience the single greatest Thing that helped my truck is switching to ethanol free gas. Added ~2 more mpg and runs smoother.

I get about the same as you. odd thing is I pull a travel trailer that weighs out about 7000lbs,pulled it down to the smokies and got between 8-10. You would think I would see a increase without the trailer but I dont.

You didn't provide any info on your truck so it is hard to say what would be right for you.

I can get 11 all town, 12 to 13 combo and close to 14 all hwy. But i carry about 1000lbs tools, parts and over the cab rack to drag through the wind. Also live in very flat part of the world.

I'm getting an average of 16.7 mpg with mine, I have not been able to keep my foot out of the pedal either. I credit the new plenum gasket fix, new cap, rotor, plug wires,180 thermostat and the one step colder than stock Autolite plugs I went with. I do coffee runs to Mc Donalds everyday and thats 4 miles through town from my house and I usually like to be first off the line & first to 35mph and I can go all week on $20. My Neon needs valve seals at the moment and is maybe getting 23mpg and that thing as well I can't keep my foot out of the pedal, even with the blown valve seals it still hauls @$$, but with that said it seems to be not much difference in operating costs from the Neon to the Truck when comparing city driving usage....hopefully valve seal replacement will fix that on the Neon

Plus the truck was cheap as hell to insure...$18 a month, my Neon is $47. Just liability of course lol.

I have not, I have read the end be all plenum on it but I'm afraid of screwing things up on it. don't get me wrong I would love to see an increase in fuel economy.

unfortunately, I live in nw new Mexico where we produce a bunch of oil and gas. I don't think we have the option of ethanol-free gas
