Default yet another rear axle question

I have a 1997 dodge 1500 with a 9.25 that has a 3.55 open diff, and I have another 9.25 outta my old ramcharger. that axle has 3.92's and a trak-lock. my question is, will the ramcharger rear axle fit under the 1997?

thanks in advance!

measure the width of axles and position of shock mounts, and where springs go. If that all works, maybe....but if not, it will take some cutting and fitting and may not be worth the effort.

I don't know for sure, but someone with experience in swapping out rearends may post up shortly.

If you have a 4x4 (i cant see peoples info on my phone so i dont know if you do) then make sure the front gears get changed as well because your transfer case will get destroyed when you throw it in 4x4...

I do have the 4x4 but the front axles are broken. they won't hold u- joints. so im just going to put that axle in and then replace the front with an axle that has a 3.9 gear set.

Keep in mind, the Ramcharger axle won't have the provision for the rear wheel speed sensor..... So your brake, and anti-lock lights will constantly be on.

Could just rob the guts from the RamCharger Axle and stuff them in his 9.25, no?

Not sure if the carrier in the RC axle would be able to accept the tone ring for the sensor... something to investigate though.

I didn't even think of that. but if I remember right, the ramcharger had RWAL. it was a 91... Idk for sure. im gonna go look now. and the ramcharger had the shock mounts on the leaf perches. so I may just pull the guts as stated above...
thanks again for the help.

update. the ramcharger rear did have the hole for the RWAL.

May have gotten lucky! See if hole is the same size. And if so, remove cover, insert the Ram RAWL sensor and make sure it does not rub on gears and make sure it is close enough to read.

yea seems the 90+ ramchargers has the rear speed sensor, as mine does also its a 93. only thing i see different is the shock mounts. but thats an eazy fix, less work than takin the guts out for sure.
