One more thing when I was in the trans and changed the selenoids we never unplugged the battery. Could that have caused any of my issues?

It may not be the cause, but 2 things. It's always good to do so for shorting out/or elec. spike reasons. And also to reset the PCM which clears the codes and the PCM won't think the bad parts are still sending it signals.

So I installed a trans speed sensor tonight after work. When the trans was cold it shifted great. The more I drove it the worse it got. First it stopped down shifting into first at a stop sign unless you pulled the lever down. Then it would hang in 2nd until you moved the lever from 2nd to d. Then it would get stuck between 2nd and 3rd. I have no idea what to do next.

Did you try to reset the pcm? Unplug the battery and turn the key like your turning the car on. Go get a beer then plug it back up and drive....on second thought maybe drink a lemonade or ice tea...

Don't know about 55, but at 2100 I am running about 73-74 mph in OD.
