No it was clean. I had a friend with a lift help me. He's a gm guy so when it comes to my chrysler stuff he's a little unsure of things. I will be drilling that out tonight in the driveway.Actually I will wait till I have more time. My grand cherokee will pull my boat. That way I can test drive the truck and not stress it to bad. When it comes to automatic transmissions I'm intimidated by them and 2nd guess myself all the time. Thanks for the replies fellas.

Thanks guys. I drilled it out tonight the last few days have been crazy. I drove it 30 miles and gad no issues. It did seem like the check valve was stuck. So that would have stopped the flow if fluid making it down shift trying to cool itself down correct? Thanks again guys.

Yep, if the check valve sticks, you don't any flow. Trans overheats, and PCM disables O/D.

Ok all was well and shifting was good. Then on the way home today it was acting up again. Not shifting out of 2nd and not wanting to down shift either unless done by hand. Next it shut off o/d and the trans temp light came on. I pulled over and waited 30mins and finished my drive home. The light came one as soon as I pulled in the driveway. What else should I look at since I swapped out the selenoids and drilled out the check valve or is it time for a replacement?

Check fluid level in Neutral. Does it smell burned?

Did/can you adjust bands?

If pressure it too low, OD will drop out. Check TV cable and TPS.

TPS could be the problem maybe that might explain the weird issue of it shutting off a few months ago. I just blamed that on having the battery discoed for a bit while I welded on the exhaust. I didn't know that could cause a low pressure in the trans.

I replaced the tps on lunch today. I went for a test drive tonight and it's worse. It still won't down shift unless you drop it by the lever and the shift from 1-2 would be long and slow and the same from 2-3. I'm thinking it might be time for a rebuild what do you guys think. This timing blows for this issue. But they always do.

Was doing a service call and was talking to a guy that worked aat a dodge dealership in the parts department. He suggested to check the speed sensor and another one on the outside but I forgot which one he said. Also said I should drop the pan and see what I see in there before I write it as a loss.
