Welded Front Diff
Detroit lockers are the way to go. Welded diffs mean ZERO on road usage. Imagine if the road has a spec of sand on it, or is wet even SLIGHTLY - I hope you have a good roll cage to keep your head from getting crushed in with the roof when it flips over or slides out of control into that family of 5 in the mini van across the intersection. If you are lucky, REALLY loud squealing tires that wear down or run off the rims in less than 1 month, even if you drive like an old fart, is the best possible outcome with a welded front diff. Also - if you want people to lie & agree with your ideas, don't go to a forum where those who know what they are doing also go to. Even welding a rear diff is not the greatest of ideas. Definitely go with an air locker or detroit locker & have something useful that wont go boom & stop with you on fire lodged in a twisted heap of wreckage. If I sound harsh it is only because I do not want you or those you slide or roll into to die for a silly mistake. Did I mention a welded front diff is HORRIBLE idea?
I have serious doubts about a 100 dollar manual locking hub conversion as well. Unless you have already done the free-spin conversion, or a previous owner has, just hubs aren't going to cut the mustard.
it has auto locking hubs. but yea i figured most people would be negative about the idea, but like i said im prob. just gonna do the front, and get the hubs so on the street there is no difference. ill let you guys know how it goes, thanks.
from what i have read most people recommend hydro assist if you plan on welding a front diff.
now i think if you think you need to weld the front diff your off-road driving skills must not be that great.

If he locks the rear then he'll have problems.....
Never said skill wise I needed it, but for snow, mud, loose rock hill climbs on a 45* hill a locked front would help. and yes stewie understands me. And hey you its the ramcharger. my ram is r.I.p. I just don't post in that section cuz no one replies and its basically same thing being a 93. Thanks for the input guys. ill let you know how it goes.
