Default Power dropoff question??

Hi guys, I'm new here and not to engine savvy so I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue on my 97 Ram 5.9 4wd sport. My truck has 180,000 miles on it now, but still used daily. I've noticed recently that upon acceleration, as soon as I let off the pedal, the rpm's drop to almost idle speed and the truck literally "shrugs" a little. It feels almost like its running while manually shifted into 2nd or 3rd. Overall the truck feels "sluggish" if that makes any sense. I've replaced plug, wires, distributor cap/rotor button, air filter, added oil and fuel additives and have my oil changed every 3k on the button. Hope I've provided enough info for someone to make sense out of this issue. Thanks a lot in advance. -Gerald

+1... I'd check for codes too.
