Default Budget lift questions

so guys i picked up a 99 ram 1500 reg cab short bed 5.9 and want to lift it a bit so i can hit a few trails ive got some parts laying around the shop i want to make work but idk how much lift it will net me

-brand new 99 Cummins front springs
-rear Add A leafs
-2.5 front spring spacers with the sway bar drop mounts

the truck has stock blocks in the rear so i would use them with the add a leafs and ive got a nice set of 33's to go on it how much lift do you think ill get im hoping 3 inches before the tires and close to 5 over stock with the tires

You'll be over 3" which means you can't use all stock steering/suspension components = not budget. If you want budget get a 3" body lift.

Anyways, It'll give you about 5-6 inches in front (diesel springs net about 3" on reg cab gas trucks), and whatever the amount of lift that's in the AALs plus the 3" blocks...so hope that the AALs are 2-3 AALs so the truck sits level.
Other items you'll need: control arms, track bar or drop bracket, sway bar links or drop bracket, possibly pitman arm, shocks, etc and they all have to be for a 5" lift.

Also, the increase in tire size doesn't count as "lift"...yes it adds height to your truck, but lift is determined by how much you raise the suspension and/or body of the truck. So you'll end up with 5" lift over stock plus the truck sits a little higher from the taller tires.

If you're just looking to hit trails throw the leveling kit in the front and an add a leaf in the back to make it sit level. Tires are where your best lift comes from anyway. They actually get the axels and pumpkins farther off the ground. Yes the body Lift will give you more room for bigger tires but if you are going with 33's you'll actually have enough room without the lift. But since you have the lift laying around I'd throw it in for ****s and giggles.

your lookin at 5" in the front, so you would need the things mentioned, or just dont level it and use a 3" lift with the 33s, will look fine. i have a pic of mine with the same setup. but its done with a 3" body lift at the time.

soo Diesel coils installed and addaleafs in.

didnt use the front spring spacers just did the springs alone truck lifted up about 2.5-2.75 inches all around not bad

can i run 8800 GVW steering linkage using my stock steering box and pitman arm and spindles or not (inner+outer tie rods) is there any benefit to doing this or not? i figure with the 35's its gonna need all the help it can get

also im thinking 3 inch body lift down the road to get the total height i want so i dont have to swap control arms and what not.

and one last thing ive been trying to find where i can buy a front and rear set of 4.56 gears for the truck but im nto totally sure what diffs the truck has anyone know?

There was a thread on here a little while back about doing a conversion to the 08 style steering linkage... which would be a great upgrade.... its the cross-over steering style, instead of the Y type that is on your truck now. MUCH better system.
