Default Refurbished Cylinder Head

If I were to pull the stock head and install a referb CH is there anything I need to do with the push rods..I was wondering if the length would be a problem as the referb head should have cut some?? I'll make sure to reinstall the rods back into the cylinders they came out of...thanks

If they were cut only to flatten them, like .005 the stock push rods will work but don't worry about putting them back in same holes, we don't even need to worry about putting the lifters in the same holes, we have hydro roller cams, just toss em in a box.

Ok thanks Adobedude! So what if I were to put a new head on, can I use the old PR and rockers?

So from what I understand cracked heads are a common theme in our trucks..and a result of the cat and or exhaust design? Now I know that a failed cat can be caused by a bad o2 or misfiring cylinder? So if that's all true and I replaced the cat a few months ago (for the 2nd time) but still have a bad head or at least a bad exhaust valve/seat and put a referb CH (or new) on, would be stupid not to put another cat on @ the same time?

Yep...Only reason to change push rods and rockers is if you toss in a cam.

Havr you replaced your plenum? That could be the cause of your cats clogging and cracked head.

Yup it's in my sig..The way I see it the bad plenum led to the bad cat which let to the bad CH..Put in a new cat, then repaired the plenum (bad order) and plan to put a new CH on asap..Still wondering if the missing cylinder is doing damage to the new cat now..
