What am i getting myself into? Overheating Issues.
Hey man since everyone else neglected to say anything to you.. you need to check your Fan!!!! Make sure the clutch is even engaging.. Not just the fan turning; that is not enough.. when the temps build up.. and start approaching 195-210 area (Somewhere in there) you should be able to feel the drag of the fan.. and also hear it roar.. if you don't hear anything that might be your problem. Should sound kinda like an 18-wheeler or other big truck if you ever listen to them as they accelerate.
Also... if you can take your fan while the engine is off and spin it pretty easy.. it might be bad as well.
I was having a problem with mine when i bought it.. 4 months in one day sitting in traffic i started overheating.. this is when the light bulb went off on my head.. the fan is not working properly..
Replaced the fan clutch and boom.. truck started cooling down properly.. now... if your sitting in traffic though.. in hot *** weather.. for a long time you might still get up to 210 or so.. and the engine start to idle up to increase the fan speed.. thats kinda normal..
But that's one of the first things to check.. No proper air flow through the rad=no cooling.. unless your moving...
even with a shot fan clutch only turning around 10-30% will only mask the problem.. when temps build and the clutch should be engaging this is the point you start over heating..
When you start moving and temps are high.. the fan clutch should be engaged.. and you will see the temp needle start to come down pretty quickly at that.. as the mech fan is pulling tons of air.. No electric fan can match the air pull of a good working fan clutch fully engaged.. turning almost the same RPM as the engine.
Good luck.

*bump* for an excellent thread on the input. I'd request a slight edit to the thread title to get it some better looks in general.

Oh and Big LOLz to VW, Legendkiller, Adobe, and Wombatfer.

Heck yea! I sure do see a lot more 2nd gen dodges than 3rd gens in my local junkyard, and modding is still fairly simple.
I would happily edit the title, but, that option seems to have fallen off the menu's....... not sure what that's all about.....
