Default Leaf spring replacement

I have a 2001 4x4 extra cab. Have new skyjacker 2" leaf springs that I will be attempting to put on soon. I just did new 2" coil springs and bilstein 5100's in the front. I thought that would be the more difficult of the two.....but after reading the installation info on the skyjacker website it says to move gas tank out of the way to get the leaf spring bolt out.....not what I was expecting to do. Anyway, I figured you guys would know. Thanks.

Dropping the gas tank really isn't that bad.... just drain as much gas as possible out of it first. Grab the 01 service manual out of the faq section, if you haven't already, procedure for dropping the tank is in there.

I did drop the gas tank to do my leaf work, but a member here suggested trying to work from the top down, between the bed floor the frame rail and the gas tank. You might have a look and see if it can be done.

Depending on how many miles are on it you might want to replace the fuel pump since you have to drop the tank anyway. With my luck if I didn't replace the pump it would go out the next week lol.

Thanks guys. After looking at it quickly yesterday it does seem like I can reach around the top of the front spring mount and get the bolt out/in without moving the tank. I will try to get to this tomorrow. And thanks for the fuel pump heads-up. I will replace that if I do take the tank down.

So I had some time today and took off the drivers side leaf spring. Did not have time to get that side done but it looks as though the new 2" lift leaf spring is not going to fit if put on top of the block. Is anyone familiar with this? Do I not need the block when using these springs? I would have called skyjacker but of course it is the weekend and I will be working on it tomorrow again. Nothing on their website for this part either. Thanks for any help.

The spring only provides two inches, I think you need that block as well....

With both springs off (new and old) Compare the arch, see how much difference there is....
