Default Transmission problems, what could it be?

This has happened on many occasions. I will be riding along and be in first gear it will go to shift into second then its like it goes into neutral revs up real fast then goes into second and kind of kicks. Is my transmission going to die soon? Most of the time it shifts fine into second but every now and then it will do this and it has been lately.

Could be gov pressure solenoid inside the trans going bad. Also you could try adjusting the TV cable. It could be out of spec.

my 44RE did that.. replaced Governor transducer (solenoid) and the Sensor.. there are some videos you can try cleaning the one you have now.. they get gunked up with the grey crap and start sticking.. I bought both Mopar off Ebay for under 1 bill shipped.. it still happens but very very raley now.. once i replaced my MAP sensor.. it started actually trying to shift properly.

I figure that if the original Mopar sensors lasted for 14 years in my trans that the new ones should last the rest of the life of this truck.

That may be true, but the rest of the tranny probably wont.

just fixed this problem in my 2000. Seemed like sometimes the tranny didnt know what gear to shift into. My problem was.. when the dodge dealer replaced my torque converter, they added about 1 qt too much tranny fluid. I got it back to the "max" line, shifts like a dream now.

just a thought...
