Transmission's acting funny,
I'd say your cat is clogged.
1- Plenum- It's not a waste of money because the crappy dodge engineers that crappily <-- New word LOL... designed the engine decided to screw everyone that bought one.. it will in time at some point fail. The question is when..
But some of the people here with the problem already have gone through the ENTIRE process... Plenum; Cat; O2 sensor and beyond and still have the issues. Others (Me) My plenum is not blown yet.. <--- YET (key word) and have done all kinds of things under the sun.. Granted I only have the off idle shudder. (Still engine mounts to go.. Dooh!)
2- TCC- (Not TC) those are two different things. TC- Torque Converter (Thats the entire assembly) TCC- Torque Converter Clutch - which is what engages.
That's really easy.. does it go in at 45 MPH right on the dot.. push the OD button and turn it off.. does it kick down gear?
Put in 1st gear.. (for the low speed shudder) still there..
As far as the other.. I'm not expert but if there was a problem with the TCC it self I would imagine it would be kicking in and out.. like crazy.. and/or not engaging or doing it too soon.. same for the soloniod that controls it..
Granted we are talking about two different shudders here.

well, seems to me like the tc is locking up way to early of idle shutter dunno could be many things. try driving with the tow button on that I believe will disengage the tc lock up. that can be 1 test for the tc problem if you have one. This is a picky problem Good luck....
Thanks, i Think im going to be driving with the overdrive off today, see how that works, I'll also be checking the plenum on friday after school. I'll let you guys know what's up with that. I'll also see if I can't check my catalytic today sometime. Any suggestions on a cat if It is clogged, I live in california, and can't seem to find a cat for my truck under 1,055 and I don;t think that's quite correct..

But I think I would ask the question as far as the mid-speed shudder; when exactly does it do it?
When TCC is engaged (Over 45 with Overdrive engaged) at:
- constant speed
-When giving a little gas like going up a hill/incline kinda thing
-When letting off the gas a little from a constant speed
-Only when engages/disengages but once completed is smooth
If we can answer that maybe we can try and come closer to a more accurate idea of what to look for.
I'll be honest.. now and then while in OD i can feel a slight singular hiccup.. very very faint now and then.. but i would not call it a shudder. I can really only speak for the low end shudder off idle.

Calli emissions is not going to let you run much other than stock. Catco is a really good brand.. very high quality.. it's not "High Flow" or anything (being those are really just the very bare min amounts of Ceramic they can get away with and call them high flow.. as thin of walls as possible" But the actual difference you will feel is hardly non.. I had both stock; Magnaflow and Catco.. they are all identical as far as performance goes. All are equally restrictive.
If you want something to last I'd say aftermarket I might go with Catco..
Mostly the cores (the actual bricks inside the cats) are all made by 4 companies and are all pretty much the same. At the end of the day your paying for a name..
What's important is like Catco Vs. Magnaflow.. Catco meets and exceeds the EPA regulation of the brick they use.. where as Magnaflow.. uses the least amount of material allowed which is a thinner walled brick.. and slightly smaller.. thus how they coin the term "High Flow" but it is much easier to blow one out under certain conditions.
The shudder starts at exactally 40 mph right when i hit fourth gear, and its like 10 in 6th if you know what I mean. I drove with the od off today hit 40 and no shudder, so tcc maybe? But the shudder gets worse the more gass I give it in 4th thats what made me think transmission. And I drive an overpass everyday three or four times a day never had any chugging, actually not even the shudder. there isn't any sound either, but the vibration is insane!
