The thing is as much as the guys are right that there could possibly be the potential; which if done right; like my wife's uncle that is a transmission specialist for 30 years now.. has always done this safely with 0 incidents to his record.

But if a transmission did glog after wards.. it was doomed anyways. Just pushing it over the edge. At the end of the day it's personal preference and how confident on the person working on the vehicle.

Drain a transmission that has metal shavings all in it.. the so-called 'safe' is not so safe after all.. clutches start slipping and the transmission completely gives way.

Either way the transmission was doomed... the question is when would it of finally gave out.

That would have to be head gasket leak somewhere to effect both and cause the shudder.

Do a Leak down test.

No adverse issues with drain plug. Other trannys have them. Dodge probably save $1.26 for each one they did not install....

I installed one on mine, then upgraded to Derale deep pan. Most, if not all, aftermarket pans will have the plug.

On another note I'm not loosing oil like I have been. Should I be concerned?lol. However my antifreeze leak isn't so bad now Either? could they be connected with the shudder problem? somethings over heating?
Just like a motor flush, it releases to much and to big junk that cloggs things up..not what up want..It's really just draining the fluid, refill and drive it..Then change it when you do your motor oil change..or sooner..having the plug doesn't mean don't change the filterthat still needs to be done as well just not everytime..it's your call if you want to use any additives..a link on the plug, you can get them at lots of places..

Yes and no, if it's on its way out it's on its way out..I heard/read about guys that haven't changed the trans fluid way past when it should have been and when they do several months later it needs to be rebuilt..but with the power flush it breaks free debris that a typical drain & filter change won't do..it's why I won't use the 'gunk motor flush' until I have the new oil pump ready to go..

Deeper pan allows for more fluid in system. I don't know that the cooling tubes in the bottom do any good or not. The increased capacity in theory should reduce the temp slightly by allowing for longer recylce time.....but that may be marginal as I added a cooler in mine as well. The pan is more substantial being heavier meaterial and lees likley to distort when bolting, but improper tightening sequence is the cause for this issue. The downside is higher cost.....but I was OK with that. It also has the drain plug installed.
