Default No start or fire but will turn over

I have a 98 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9 in it. I have no fire to the electrical plug that plugs into the coil. I have no spark from cylinder 1. The motor will spin over but it will not crank. Any suggestions of what it could be?

I believe you have your terminology all wrong...
If the engine "turns over" that means it runs.
If the engine only "cranks" that means the engine is trying to run but doesn't quite turn over due to loss of spark, fuel, or compression. "Spinning over" isn't a word you should use to describe what the engine is doing...it's kind of a confusing phrase. Using the right terminology helps other out alot when trying figure out your problems.

Anyway, what do you mean by not getting fire to the electrical plug to the coil? The plug wire, or the electrical connector? If you stick a spark plug into the end of the coil wire and ground it to the engine do you get spark (dont hold the wire with you hand!) ?

If you're getting no spark at the coil, you gotta test the coil. If its good, you're looking at getting a new crank or cam sensor...
