If the water pump isn't weeping or squealing then it's fine. Timing chain is probably sloppy, and it is a good idea to replace it. Since one of the best times to replace the timing chain is when you do the plenum gasket, you might as well replace the water pump since the timing chain is behind the pump.

The oil and plug change are most important after you use Seafoam as an oil system cleaner.

If you replace the plenum gasket before plug #7 and #8 start fouling...which causes the CAT to fail, then likely you're safe...though a new set of plugs can be nice.

If you're not sure of the status of your CAT, pull the pre CAT sensor out of the exhaust pipe and if the engine runs better then the CAT is clogged. If no change, the CAT is fine.

Also, you can read the plugs to determine if they are good or bad. Wet and oily is a bad sign. Light brown and dry is perfect. White is lean, black is rich.

i eleminated the cat when i ran true duals i still need to get the downflow and 2 non foulers plumbed in but on the seafoam i was told not to do that in the oil stage because it can cause other old parts that are not broke loose to come loose and possibly have something else fail because of it. when i changed the plenum there was only 1 or 2 spots where the gasket broke and the stock pan wasnt all that caked up the vally was pretty clean besides pooling oil. so i replaced it and also while the kegger was out i cleaned that. Also cleaned and somewhat "polished" the TB and exstensivly cleaned it. put everything back together including the new thermostat provided in the kit..

Seafoam is a fantastic product and won't make something loose or break. That's a load of crap.

It can be used in the fuel system, the oil system, and the air intake system. If you want to use it it's a good preventative maintenance item. The only issue if you use it in the oil system is that the oil and filter need to be changed after...per it's instructions, and it can cause issues with the plugs and CAT but if you're changing plugs and don't have a CAT anymore then you have no reason not to buy and use a bottle as per the instructions. It can only help if there's carbon and varnish built up throughout the systems.

Put some info in your sig about what you replaced/mods to your truck. I read a lot of threads and am not going to read 4 or 5 pages every time for basic info, as others won't either.
