SCT has supported '96 since the beginning. I've got '96 model customers far back as 2007 when I first got hold of SCT tuning. It works awesome on the '96 model

Alright, update here for everyone. Heading up to Dodge dealer today to get the PCM tested, and that will hopefully shed some light on this issue. It is about $80 to get the PCM tested at the dealer, plus whatever gas to drive the 40 miles there... Oh well, one has to do what one has to do.

Default New/Aftermarket Wiring Harness?

Alright, turned out to be a bad engine wiring harness... Which makes all the sense in the world... Had somewhat of an adventure getting the truck home, but it is safely home now! So, next question: Where can I get a wiring harness? Hope I don't have to make one, but I might have to...

Not really. But I don't want to get a used one either as it well, as it will have the exact same problem.

Well, an update for everyone.... So I got a used harness for $150 that was in pretty good condition, all I had to do was splice in the tranny control wires, cause someone had cut them off (probably cause they put a manual into an auto truck). So put it in, no go. So I got a PCM from the same place that was much newer than the one I had... $100 there. Now no go still. So guess what? My stupid little passing thought of a bad keyswitch has turned out to be the probable culprit. So off to get a new switch today. I tested it with my meter, and, well, I won't say what it tested except that it was pure junk... Then I was under the truck hanging my exhaust higher, and noticed that the transfer case was cracked..... Ugghhhh. SO now I'm on the trail of a transfer case too... Probably the stupid snap ring inside broke, and is causing the terrible transfer case shifting, and the clunk clunk WHENEVER it shifts, Reverse or Forward... So now I am thinking about getting a different transfer case than the one it has (231HD)... Want a better one cause we push this truck far beyond what the full-ton dually manual diesel of the same year is rated... Any suggestions? I am planning to get one out of a JY and rebuild it to save some money... Thanks! --Keagan
