So put it in, no go. So I got a PCM from the same place that was much newer than the one I had... $100 there. Now no go still. So guess what? My stupid little passing thought of a bad keyswitch has turned out to be the probable culprit. So off to get a new switch today. I tested it with my meter, and, well, I won't say what it tested except that it was pure junk... Then I was under the truck hanging my exhaust higher, and noticed that the transfer case was cracked..... Ugghhhh. SO now I'm on the trail of a transfer case too... Probably the stupid snap ring inside broke, and is causing the terrible transfer case shifting, and the clunk clunk WHENEVER it shifts, Reverse or Forward... So now I am thinking about getting a different transfer case than the one it has (231HD)... Want a better one cause we push this truck far beyond what the full-ton dually manual diesel of the same year is rated... Any suggestions? I am planning to get one out of a JY and rebuild it to save some money... Thanks! --Keagan
You push it in which way? Towing? wheeling? You can put a 241 TC in it and will just have to deal with some driveshaft issues. But you'll still have a D44 in the front and a 9.25 in the rear.

Towing, by far... Yeah I know about them axles... Eventually gonna upgrade to some Dana 60 or 70 in the rear and a Dana 66 up front... But for now the axles are holding out... I found a NV4500 tranny with the 241HD transfer case on eBay and though about maybe putting it in this to avoid automatic tranny problems down the road...Whatcha think?

The transfer case is not going to help the tranny. However, the 4:56 gears you have does. But that still doesn't help the fact that you say" we push this truck far beyond what the full-ton dually manual diesel of the same year is rated..." That's just plain dangerous with a 1500 platform. The brakes alone suck on a 1500 with no load.

Brakes? Never had any trouble with them... They have plenty of power, and now with a trailer brake controller, it is able to stop as fast as a new car. At any rate, what do you think about putting the NV4500 in instead of an auto? Someday I will get a pic of this truck hauling it's big loads... Next year will be when. Also, I replaced the keyswitch and yes the switch was bad, but that isnt all that is wrong.. Still the same problem... Any ideas?

SO today I went out, and pulled all of the relays.... No change in what it is doing.... However, I made a few observations: Whenever I try to start it, the starter relay clicks repeatedly and rapidly, whilst the starter motor itself does hardly a thing... Then I decided to figger out which relays keep clicking... Turned the ignition to RUN, went over to the PDC, and felt for the relays that were clicking... Pulled the ASD relay and the Fuel pump relay... Then all the clicking subsided, albeit the buzzers still didnt sound normal... But the lights were brighter. So then I put the relays back in and it starts clicking like mad all over again... So I pull the fuse for the Fuel pump, and all the clicking is gone... Oh, and the fuel pump runs constantly when the fuse is in... Even with the PCM disconnected... What should I think?

Have you put new relays in and or swapped them around with like the horn relay?

Swapped relays around... I feel like an idiot... Ran a jumper wire to the PDC and everything electronically works fine... Bad positive battery cable, which was shorting if it even worked.... SO replacing it today.

It runs great, albeit it is running rich... Gonna prolly get a tuner... I tried putting on the old PCM but the truck ran terrible with it... So gonna keep the newer PCM on it.... Any ideas about it running rich?
