Either way, the worthless cold air intake will fit your throttle body, but might not mount correctly on the filter end. Why don't you just go try to test fit it?
+1, it won't mount correctly, simple as that.

So a 1998 dakota 5.9 is not the same engine as a 1994 dodge ram 5.9?

Same engine, different engine compartment layout. Dakota is narrower.

True but the Ram has a wider more open space on the same side, so the CAI would have plenty of room if im not mistaken. So in theory it should work right?

It wont work. The air hat itself may be the same part(which I also doubt, probably shorter), but the air cleaner end is totally different.

OP: Go test fit this stuff for yourself. You don't need someone to hold your hand to test fit an air filter.
