Bout to go swimming with my 95
95 1500 5.9
208,000 and counting
Hesitation at low idle, backing out of the drive, starting from a stoplight, ect, the rmps will drop and the engine stall and die.
CEL has never came on, but was throwing 2 codes. Egr and tcc solenoid.
The egr turned our to be a few vacuum lines had broke. Replaced the tcc solenoid while i was changing tranny fluid.
Nothing changed.
Took apart tb, cleaned it, replaced iac and tps while it was off.
Still nothing has changed.
I can floor it until about 45 mph, then nothing, the rpms go to about 3k, and i have no power. But if i creep it up slowly, it will maintain speed.
No oil pooling in the plenum, but i can hear a distinct "hissing" under acceleration.
But using propane no vacuum leaks were found.
Unbolted the exaust from the headers, thinking the cat could be plugged, no difference, cleaned the o2 sensors, nothing.
Just about to take it o the lake for a swimming lesson...

When you changed the TCC did you change out the Solenoid for it also?
Engine Dieing usually the IAC valve.. unless you have something clogged up in the tranny and causing the engine to die.. (master transmission guy told me that once if the return from the TC gets clogged.. it might cause excess washout in the TC and kill the engine. IDK on that though.. ROFL
Shaking off idle.. join the club I and several other guys have the issue. Check your motor and transmission mounts. Pry bar.. and move up down side/side see if there are any cracks or breaks in the rubber.
Look through you'll find a few threads that are active.

Try this. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html
And disconnect the negative battery cable before doing so.

No.
Do i need to drive it for a bit so that the pcm can "reset" and learn the new settings?
Or should it be instant?

You say you unbolted the Y pipe from the headers, were they plenty clear of the opening? And cleaning an o2 is not an option IMHO. Replacement is only way to ensure that it/they are good.
Yes, i pulled the negative terminal before starting work on it...
Iac map and o2 sensors, egr valve changed, no difference in low speed idle.
But today, on a whim, i pulled the pcv valve out of the valve cover and pulled the hose from the intake.
It cleared right up! Going to pick up a new valve tomorrow. Hopefully that is it.
