Default 1997 ram 1500 no cruise and brake abs come on after 40mph

I have a 97 dodge ram 1500 with no cruise control and a interment brake/abs light that comes on after around 40 mph and can be turned off after repeatedly tapping the brakes. the indicator light for cruise is very dim until you ever so slightly push the brake pedal then it turns bright. also how far is the brake pedal suppose to come up because i have repeatedly knocked the brake switch out and pushed the plunger all the way in. Okay here the things I have already replaced: vacuum line running to servo (system holds vacuum like it should) plus a new valve for the ac, brake switch, rear speed sensor, repaired faulty shorted tail light wires. This thing is really starting to tick me off ive spent hours on it.

Sounds like theRear speed sensor still.
Which brand did you use to replace it with?
The aftermarket parts sometimes don't like to work with the Dodge brain.

Well i tested the circuit board in the servo and i had one bad coil and a bad diode so i replaced both with parts out a junk yard and now i have the same resistance all the way across the pins. Ill try it tomorrow and report back.

Well the light stays completly green now but still no cruise control and tried another rear speed sensor and nothing so i just bough a tranny speed sensor to try. I did notice a decent amount of slack in the cable, could that cause it not to set?

My cruise control wasn't working and it turned out to be a bad vacuum line running from the cruise control servo (under the battery) to the engine. I replaced it and now the cruise control works.

Could be a pin hole in the brake line running to the rear next to the fuel tank. Wont always leak on the ground.(most common) You'll have to look. And what cable are you talking about? There is also the possibility the brake light switch is bad, but I doubt it, only because the ABS and brake lites go on. I'd check the brake line first.

Today it worked for a short amount of time and would not work under 45mph, then i hooked up my trailer then I don't have cruise again and the brake/abs light kept popping back on and off. I haven't noticed any loss in brake fluid but i will deff check the lines now. and the cruise control cable had slack so today i took some out.

After being so frustrated i punched the cruise control switch and what do ya know it starts working! So I went out to the jy and got me another one and no problems so far, still wanting to know about the brake pedal travel distance if anyone knows.
