Whinning when in reverse

Whinning when in reverse
My ram whines when it is put into reverse only in reverse does it do this, i think the front pump might be going bad in it, i just want some insight.
also for cold start when i put it into gear, it feels like its a manual trans like i hit the gas too much and didnt let the clutch out enough, is the only way i can think to describe it.
