Default New intake manifold?

ok, well, i did the plenum repair hoping it would cure my oil consumption problem. i thought it did for a while, then my level started going down. i looked under the truck, and saw that oil was coming from what seemed like the rear main seal. well, come to find out, thats not where its coming from. its coming from the rear seal on the intake manifold. (i remember having problems with this when doing the plenum, but thought i had it right, and it didnt leak for the first couple weeks, then i thought it was good).

i'm also leaking coolant from the thermostat housing and possibly somewhere else. i can't tell. regardless, i've about had it with the kegger manifold. i'm looking for ANYTHING aftermarket. i know the main two that everyone gets is the MOPAR M1 and the hughes air gap. i'm not about to spend $600(even if i had it) on an new air gap. i tried doing a search for the M1, but all i found was carbuerated manifolds.

are there any others out there that i could get? does anyone have an M1 for sale? i told myself a long time ago, that i if that manifold ever had to come off again, it was getting replaced with something better...

guess its back to cheaper oil and frequent changes :/

Here are a couple of part numbers for you to work with. To find a used one your going to have to search around on any Mopar type of forum.

There are cheaper listings for this intake so shop around.

i appreciate the help! honestly, i was hoping it wouldn't cost that much, i'm so short on cash right now i honestly dont know if its even worth fixing right now.

if i do anything, i guess i'll be taking the manifold BACK off and replacing gaskets. again. fml. just kinda ticked off at this point cuz i honestly thought that i did everything right and it was good to go. just my luck :/

There was someone (I think in the plenum thread) recommending just not even using the front and rear IM gaskets, and just laying down a thick bead of RTV instead. Not sure I agree, but on the other hand I guess if the real seals are not working for you, maybe its worth trying.

has anyone else heard of or done this? doesnt sounds like a horrible idea to be honest. just doesnt make sense to me why its leaking. i checked to make sure the seal wasn't bulging out in the rear, and its really not. so who knows...i guess its back to cussing and long nights tearing this apart again...

Here is one of the posts: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2867483-post767.html

There was another one somewhere in that thread, but I'm too lazy to look through 78 pages for it.

When you did it the first time, did you take your fan assembly out? I didn't really feel like it was that hard to get the front and rear seals seated properly, but I also had my fan and shroud out, so I'm guessing it really helps when you can climb down in there and hug your engine.

no, i didnt feel there was any need to. plus i needed a place to set my tools lmao. the shroud and fan didnt impede my ability to work on any of it actually. although, that could just be me being a "youngbuck with a strong back" lol
