1995 ram 1500 code 32 and 37
I was thinking of installing a new fuel pump anyway. Are there any inexpensive ones that work like the one RockAuto has for $43.00 that work and last? ( it looks like just the pump not the whole module) I just today got the replacement dash in and installed a used factory radio/cd player. The truck has an infinity system and the unit I got from the pick-your-part was out of a car with an infinity system but only the little door speakers play. There is just barely any sound out of the other speakers. I put it in my 5th ave and it plays all speakers. ( the truck had a JVC radio in it when I got it wired into the factory harness. It had no face plate so I don't know how it worked. ) Also fixed the a/c today ! The wife is gonna be all over me when she gets home !
About the dash ; when I bought the truck the dash looked like someone had hidden bones in there and turned a pack of hungry dogs loose inside the cab. Not only was the top gone but the carrier as well had turned to brick-a-brack. There was no place to even bolt the radio. The radio that was there was hanging by wires and antenna cable. I didn't even know it had a cup holder until I got the replacement! Nothing in any salvage yard was much better, but I found one in the northwest that was perfect ! The yard sent pictures and not one crack. $250 plus $209 for shipping. That's alot !
Went to work on the truck project yesterday and it would not start , only click. Ok now a starter gets on the list. Wait, let's clean all wiring at the battery. Boom ! Starts every time now. Well , I went down to the local auto supply store to buy a fuel pump assembly and when I opened the box right on top it said 40 psi. I did not get it . The wife and I drove it for the first time later that afternoon. Starts well and the after about 4 miles it started running poorly and stalling. Sometimes when it starts it sounds like it is firing on the up stroke . I suspect crank position sensor. Also from prev disc still need to fix EGR code. ( though I did check to make sure vac was at EGR).
BTW I checked the trans cooler lines for a temp sensor for the code 37 and found none. There is a two wire connector at the back of the trans that is not connected to any thing, though. Thanks zman17 for the link and what is a CKT ?
I got under the truck and found the crankposition sensor. Is it easier to get to if I remove the exhaust? Two things about the exhaust, it's a texas truck and someone has chopped the exhaust very short. ( about 4 feet long from manifold to tips out side just past muffler )
Goodafternoon gents ! I just pulled the t-stat out of the wife's project truck because the engine was running to cold. ( waiting on my ordered camshaft poition sensor ) Low and behold there is no t-stat. Is there a pic on here as to which way the t-stat goes in ?
