Summit racing last night was recommending the Edge Products programer for my '01 ram w/a 5.2 over the Flaspaq model from superchips both for better HP & MPG.
What do you think? I would love to hear your recommendations or dislikes.

They also recommended thier Summit model "shorty" Headers for increasing both HP & mpg as well. (I already did the exhaust, gutted cat, & installed K&N intake sys.)

Fix your plenum, if you haven't already, then do a SCT Tune from Hemifever; General consensus is that it is the best tuner available for the Gen 2's.

Do not buy it there. Sean (hemifever) gives you a nice discount, and writes some of the best tunes money can buy for a 1996-2001 2nd Gen, and for cheaper than a Superchips. hemifever@aol.com
Last time I checked, he was selling at about $265 for three generic tunes (usually tow, 87 octane, and 93 octane), or $365 for custom tunes (this isn't worth it unless you have an aftermarket wide band O2 sensor and have heavily modified the engine, such as a supercharger, better internal parts, etc.).
Had him write a tune for my wife's 2006 Durango back when we had it. He had never written a tune for a Durango 4.7L V8 before, but he hit it out of the park the first time without any issues.
I only wish his tuners worked on vehicles newer than 2006.

As always, thanks everyone for your advise. I have sent email to hemifever to clarify a couple of things but plan to order one w/ the pre-loaded tunes on it soon.

Only thing is, if you have oversize tires, the SCT will not adjust the speedo . Performance wise the SCT is better, but has less options.
Ok, so I have exchanged a few emails back & forth w/ Sean @ Hemifever. While I am sure thier code work is awesome, I am not sure of how much improvement I will see if I don't start running higher octane fuel. I am looking for cost saving as well as HP. He will tweak the 87 octane code for me with my regular running of the Lucas additive but I'm torn when he asks me to specify performance vs. mpg. I feel like I am locked in and unable to switch between the 2 options. I may be forced to ask for the 87 octane code to be setup for mpg and if I want better responsiveness, fill up on super & switch to the 92/94 octane code, I guess. If anyone has a take on all of this from thier experiance, which I obviouslly lack, I would appreciate it.
